Why we LIFT

Performing sets for strength, and saving time for fun, we train movement and strength to compliment our healthy active lifestyle. Even though the branding and banners have changed, LIFT is still integral to our belief’s and business operations. In it’s simplest form, most time to LIFT means — Lauryn. Ian. Fitness. Training. However this time it stood for Lauryn and Ian have a Flat Tire…

We were stopped on the trail, waiting for our ride and on our way home from an afternoon cycling around our county.  After making stops to see our friends and favourite architectural sights along the way, we shared a burger and wings, and for first time this season we enjoyed the sights and sounds on the patio at the Elora Brewing Company.

From there we saw that some people were e-scooting, while others were stooping over to read the plaques on the sculptures. Many other groups were busy cycling and sight-seeing around the town. Where ever we go — we enjoy seeing active people, of all ages, out and about.

Earlier on our ride, we stopped by one of Lauryn’s friends, and we were treated to pink lemonade and some “marvellous mix.” When our friend told her young son where we had just biked from — Guelph, his eyes grew wide and bigger than the Hulk’s biceps on the action figure he was showing us just moments ago.

Cycling a sixty km return trip is not Sunday afternoon in the park — this time we managed to cover thirty-eight,  but it is part of the reason we lift kettlebells overhead for strength and our legs lift for balance at the barre — even if today we had a flat tire.

LIFT represents a lifestyle approach to your physical and mental health. This week, engage with tasks that challenge your strength, show your spirit and assemble meaningful skills to help you in your everyday and lifestyle pursuits.

The road is bumpy, and there will be moments where your efforts may flatten out. However, with a little re-set, and a quick exchange of the inner tube, or identifying the intrinsic reasons you train — you will be rewarded with a lifetime of memories and movements that make you feel strong.

Walking, cycling, visiting friends and living the best local life. These are the reasons we LIFT with our Barres and Bells. What are yours?

Take care,

Lauryn and Ian
