Life in the Pits

When traveling around the world, or just around the block, Lauryn and I are mesmerized by big equipment and ambitious infrastructure projects like the TRICAR condo development on Wyndham street in our hometown of Guelph. Little jobs, big drills, tall cranes and the mammoth effort of a coordinated team continue to make steady progress on the job site. The development of a property, like the ongoing integration and development of skills for wellness and exercise, requires a plan that is flexible to change, but rigorous and sound in the approach.

Today, the concrete forms are starting to emerge above grade, and the tower crane hoists loads up and over the edges of the pit to the workers down below.  Excavators and their operators use the hydraulic joints with technical precision and coordination that inspires us to think about using our limbs for movement and exercise in the same way. A little bit of this now — then that, for later.

On the site, they embed the foundation to the bedrock below now, so that in the future the building will stay stable and strong. In your exercise practice, we encourage you to do the same. Engage your brain to improve your foundations of movement and strength, so that you may create a body that is resilient, adaptable and strong for the future. Refine the process and connect your mind to muscle with inspiration from magnificent machines.

Aim high, dig deep and always take care,

Lauryn + Ian
